Product Description

HIGHBUSH BLUEBERRY Vaccinium corymbosum This shrub has 3 seasons of interest for your landscape. Pinkish-white bell shaped flowers in late spring, turn into tasty edible berries in summer. The thick glossy leaves turn a brilliant red in autumn. Great substitute for the non-native burning bush.

Blueberries prefer a soil pH of 4.5, so consider adding a Soil Test Kit to your order.

CONTAINERS

ELIZABETH BLUEBERRY Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Elizabeth’

#5 container 18-21″

This mid to late season cultivar is named for the trailblazing plant breeder and “Blueberry Queen” Elizabeth Coleman White. ‘Elizabeth’ grows 4-6′ tall and wide and is considered by many to have the best tasting fruit. Yields of up to 10-12# per bush.

TORO BLUEBERRY Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Toro’

#5 container 18-21″

This cultivar is a great choice for both fruit and landscape interest. Mid-season berries are large, sweet and ripen in easy to pick clusters at the end of branches. It is also compact enough to grow in containers, in a mixed hedge or more formal ornamental landscape.

ORNABLUE BLUEBERRY Vaccinium x ‘Ornablue’ var. corymbosum x pallidum

#3 container 15-18″

This half-high blueberry variety is a cross between the native Highbush Blueberry Vaccinium corymbosum and Early Lowbush Blueberry Vaccinium pallidum species. Its compact structure, glossy green summer foliage, attractive fall foliage, prolific spring bloom and attractive edible berries make it a great choice for hedges and landscaping. Due to the small size and yield of berries gardeners should consider the aesthetics of this plant the priority and the fruit an added bonus. This cultivar also tolerates wet soils better than many blueberries.
