ALTERNATE LEAF DOGWOOD Swida alternifolia, Cornus alternifolia Also called Pagoda dogwood for its unique growth habit, this small understory tree has fragrant springtime flower clusters and fall berries. It is a low maintenance tree that tolerates a variety of soil types and light conditions, but prefers shady afternoons.
