Ohio Pollinator Oasis Native Seed Mix
Beekeepers and Gardeners, you can make a difference in your environment. How? Turn your property from a food desert into a food oasis for pollinators. Eastern Great Lakes Native Pollinator Seed Mix
Regionally adapted open pollinated native wildflowers and grasses make up this mix developed by us and approved by our friends at The Xerces Society. This blend, appropriate for Ohio, Indiana, Western Pennsylvania and Western New York, provides nectar and food sources for numerous pollinators and larva. Wildflowers were selected to continuously bloom and provide forage areas all season long, while grasses add diversification, structure and habitat to round out out the mix. Our partnership with The Xerces Society ensures that your seed mix is neonicotinoid and pesticide free and provides a safe habitat for all regionally important pollinators.
Some things to remember:
This mix of native grasses and wildflowers will need at least three growing seasons to fully establish. There are some annuals included in the mix for first year color and foraging for pollinators.

Wet Wildflowers Native Seed Packet
Pollinators and hummingbirds will love this!
We've created a packet of native wildflowers that thrive in wetter environments. This mix of 20 species would work well around pond edges, gardens, and other moist areas with soils that can drain away some water. The perennial species in this packet may take 2 to 3 growing seasons to emerge, so don't be discouraged if you don't see blooms the first year it's planted.

Woodland Edge Native Seed Mix
While we call this mix Woodland Edge, the native grass and wildflower species it is comprised of can tolerate being planted in any area that is partially shaded and has well-drained soils. Partially shaded means that it will need at least 4 hours of sunlight a day. Finished heights on this mix will be 3 to 5 feet tall and we've included a wide range of wildflowers that bloom at different times of the growing season. This is a great mix for pollinator habitat and it contains Common Milkweed to attract Monarch butterflies.
Some things to remember:
This mix of native grasses and wildflowers will need at least three growing seasons to fully establish.
This mix does contain some annuals for color and foraging the first growing season. However, partial shade can mean cooler soil temperatures. This can lead to slower germination later on in the growing season.
After the end of the growing season, you can leave this mix standing tall all fall and winter long as habitat. Native bees will winter in the hollow stems. Cut it back in the spring when it starts to green up to allow new growth to receive enough light.

Grasses:

Too Wet to Mow Native Seed Mix
Quit trying to mow those wet areas of your yard. Our Too Wet to Mow Mix is a combination of native grasses and wildflowers that grow in wet areas that receive partial shade to full sun (at least 4 hours of sunlight a day). Areas that were once a problem become filled with native species that can reach heights of 3 to 4 feet on average, with some species getting as tall as five feet. The deep root systems of native plants help filter water through the soil reducing runoff and flooding. Wildflowers attract birds, bee, pollinators and more!
Some things to remember:
Native plant communities can take up to three growing seasons to fully establish. The Partridge Pea and Tickseed Sunflower in this mix are annual wildflowers that will help provide first year color.
Make sure you don't seed this mix into standing water. These species need good seed to soil contact.
Because your area is wetter, soil temperatures may remain cooler throughout the growing season. This may mean slower establishment.

Deer Resistant Native Seed Mix
If you live in an area with a dense deer population, this one is for you! This mix of native grasses and wildflowers are not on the deer's list of preferred snacks. If there is a healthy food supply around, they should have minimal impact on your seeding.
Keep in mind, that if the right conditions are met, deer will eat almost anything. With that said, they don't seem to be as attracted to native landscapes grown from seed. Put plants in the ground and it's like an instant smorgasbord, but the slow and constant growth of the same plants from seed do not trigger the deer to feast. So, create your pollinator and song bird haven and let the deer dine elsewhere.

Privacy Pollinator Fence Native Seed Mix
Got a problem with nosy neighbors and don't want to spend a lot of money on a fence? Let native grasses and wildflowers do the work to add some privacy to your yard.
We designed this mix with a heavier percentage of Eupatorium species that have hearty stalks, fluffy seed heads, long bloom times and grow tall. These species readily re-seed themselves to reinforce your living barrier. Add Cup Plant and Prairie Dock and you've got a native seed mix that grows between 3-8 feet tall to help block the neighbors view. Can be left standing all winter long. Natives bees will winter in the hollow stems and birds will feed on the seed heads.
Designed to bloom spring through fall once established. Typical establishment time is two to three growing seasons since this mix is primarily perennial species. These native plant species also great for attracting butterflies and songbirds. Can also be planted in those areas you just don't want to mow anymore.

Septic Field Native Seed Mix
Make your septic field a thing of beauty with this mix. This mix has been designed using plants that prefer dry soil because the root systems of these draw moisture from the septic system helping to make it more efficient. Takes advantage of subsoil moisture when present, but also able to tolerate dry periods. ReGreen can be added in quick cover and erosion control situations. Birds and butterflies will be attracted to the flowers that bloom spring to fall.Â
Native plants are uniquely qualified to handle septic fields. The range of moisture levels can be challenging for ornamental and introduced species. The deep fibrous root systems allow for great filtration. Native herbaceous plants lack a deep tap root like most shrubs and trees have, It is these tap roots which typically pose a risk to damaging the septic system's underground piping. Native plants help with filtration, provide much needed habitat for wildlife and look amazing. These native plants also create a landscape that keeps you from having to mow. Mowing septic fields can be challenging.
